Ned Ferm (b. 1982)

Ned Ferm has a close connection with the Danish avant-garde and experimental scene to which he has contributed in a number of various constellations. Despite his young age, Ferm is an experienced player, managing both a sensible and melodic as well as a free, wildly spontaneous approach to his instrument. Although his roots are obviously in a jazz saxophone tradition, Ferm also handles other instruments in different combos, spanning from alternative rock to country-inspired music. Having returned to the U.S. after a two year-long stay in Denmark, Ferm is still performing on a regular basis with Danish situated bands and artists such as Anderskov Accident, Phoenix City, and Rhonas Harris / Nikolaj Nørlund with whom he has also recorded. Besides this, Ferm is occasionally leading his own outfit The Ned Ferm Failure.
