Kresten Osgood (b.1976)

Kresten Osgood is one of the most creative and wide-ranging drummers on the Danish contemporary scene. His assets range from postmodern hip hop projects, over free form avant-garde experiments, to classic jazz –tributes in various forms. Since his appearance from the outskirts of the jazz milieu toward being an all-over and in-demand drummer, Osgood has continuously developed his musical approaches and engaged himself in innumerable constellations both as a sideman and as inspiring leader. He is known for his resourceful and impulsive style, which always adds a highly personal energy to whatever context he performs in. Among a few of the artists Osgood has played and recorded with during the past years can be mentioned Paul Bley, Yusef Lateef, Sam Rivers, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and Brad Mehldau.
