Jesper Zeuthen (b.1949)

Jesper Zeuthen stands out as a unique saxophonist, not only in his home country of Denmark, but on a much larger scale. Zeuthen has embraced a variety of musical styles from Balinese and African traditions to hardcore avant-garde jazz and fusion, and has managed to focus it all into his playing. With his preferred instrument of choice being the alto sax, Zeuthen’s sound and feeling is one of a kind – expressive, uncompromising and tender at once. He has been performing and recording since the early 70s and has since then maintained his connections with changing Danish avant-garde movements.
