Jakob Høyer (b. 1976)

Jakob Høyer has made a career for himself traversing both rock bands and jazz combos with great capability. Probably most known for playing and touring with the Danish rock n' roll phenomena The Raveonettes during the past years, Høyer has again lately involved himself more actively in the contemporary jazz scene. For instance his expressive and dynamic drumming has been evident in the collaborations with Jonas Westergaard and Nicolai Munch-Hansen, where Høyer's animated playing makes up a perfect match for their open-minded, yet decided way of improvising and composing. Likewise, Høyer is part of Bro's trio, also counting Anders Christensen, as well as Bro's nonet including George Garzone, Andrew D'Angelo, Jesper Zeuthen, Søren Kjærgaard, Nicolai Munch-Hansen, AC and Kresten Osgood.
