This latest release from Beautiful Day clearly shows how the band has been refining, developing and redefining their artistic means over the years. All of the tracks found here, are part of the original material, played by the quartet as they debuted in 1999. Until now this music has not been available in the form of a recording, and as such Live at Sun Ship represents a pinnacle of Beautiful Day's artistic course so far. Retrospective and highly contemporary at the same time, the music on this album varies from subtle and intimate to spontaneous, powerful, and improvised, played both collectively and with plenty of space for each individual instrumentalist.
